ABOUT APPEL FARM ARTS CAMP
Appel Farm Arts Camp is an overnight camp for the Fine and Performing Arts, conveniently located in southern New Jersey. Campers build individualized schedules, choosing from classes in Theater, Technical Theater, Creative Writing, Photography, Dance, Music, Art+Technology, and Visual Arts, as well as traditional camp games and activities. Appel Farm's non-competitive, process based, approach to arts education gives each camper the opportunity to truly explore their art and hone their skills.
Appel Farm has a proud history of notable alumni and guest artists. Just this past summer, Appel Farm Alumni Daniel Gittler returned to camp after working on the music team of Tony Award-winning Dear Evan Hansen. Campers learned original choreography from In the Heights in a Broadway Master class taught by Gabrielle Ruiz, currently starring in the CW's Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. Campers took part in music workshops with the West Philadelphia Orchestra, studied improv with the Philly Improv Theatre, and took part in acting workshops at the Walnut Street Theatre.
There's also all the fun of traditional camping - campfires, trips, special events and activities, and late night fun time. Sessions length options begin at 2-weeks, and can be built up to an entire 8-week camp experience, with date options to fit everyone's summer schedule.
APPEL FARM ARTS CAMP SCHOLARSHIPS will be awarding 3 scholarships to students from the 2021 NJ Thespian Festival:

Come get a taste of university life by participating in a Pre-College Summer Institute program at UArts this summer!
The Pre-College Summer Institute is a dynamic and challenging program for high school students, where you’ll gain substantial foundational skills and college-level training while working with UArts' expert visual, writing, and performing arts faculty. In the Summer Institute Theater program, you’ll join us for four weeks of immersive study. Students choose one of three tracks: Acting, Musical Theater Performance, or Directing, Playwriting + Production. Modeled after the renowned UArts undergraduate theater experience, this program trains artists looking for individualized and hybrid opportunities to write, direct, design, and produce in addition to performing. Through the rigorous college-level curriculum, you will develop skills in crafting character and scene work, grasp the potential of your voice as an instrument and develop a vibrant stage presence. You’ll further your exploration in track-specific courses that address your individual needs, and in electives that span a wide range of theatrical disciplines. You’ll be trained by our distinguished faculty and participate in weekly master classes with award-winning theater artists. Our faculty is comprised of artists currently working on Broadway, Off-Broadway, in film/TV, and in major regional theaters. Our curriculum is enhanced by trips to Philadelphia theaters and a day trip to NYC to attend a Broadway production. Leave with audition-ready materials and preparation, detailed feedback from each instructor, and 3 college credits!
